Encounter Earth exists to bring Direct Trade and sustainability to the forefront of the retail industry. We import beautiful, unique products, from skincare to jeans to t-shirts and jewellery, that provide an alternative to the exploitation and lack of accountability so prevalent in the fashion industry. We provide a space for you to vote with your dollars for responsibility, integrity and common sense.
We seek to ensure that all products are produced using environmentally responsible production methods, from organic cotton to hand-crafted shea butter, and we welcome dialogue with our customers and our producer partners to strive for even greater improvements.We tell the stories behind our products, both in store and on the web, creating awareness of the benefits of Direct Trade, and providing a direct juxtaposition to business as usual. We commit ourselves to treating our partners with respect, honoring their work with dignified, transparent communication. We seek wherever possible to facilitate direct connections between all constituents - from the customers buying products to the artisans producing them. |
